Achievements of NEGASS The major achievement made by NEGAAS can be listed as follows 1. Membership is growing and has reached 64. 2. There is synergy and harmony among members now. 3. Members are giving time to NEGAAS slowly. 4. The flow of regular information and communication has been effective. 5. The relationship with German Embassy has improved. 6. Identified programs have been lunched as scheduled. 7. Fund has significantly raised.. 8. Publication of Newsletter has been regular 9. NEGAAS Website www.negaas.org.np is being well maintained 10. Classification of talks have started 11. German Language class started 12. Conferring Honorary membership to Ambasador has continued 13. The collaboration with German Academic Exchange program and other organizations has been effective 14. Monthly meeting has been regular. Activities of of NEGASSNEGAAS has carried-out a series of activities in the past. They include from granting of honorary membership to highly distinguished personalities to publication of NEGAAS News, organization of Exhibition, Seminar, Talk Programs on different issues and social programs. NEGAAS granted Honorary Membership to: - Dr. Klaus Barth, the then ambassador of Germany to Nepal, on Sept. 11, 1996 at Hotel Bajra. - Prof. Dr. Klaus von Klitzing , the Nobel Laureate and Director, Max Planck Institute, Stuttgart , on 10 March 1999 at Hotel Blue Star. - H. E Franz Erwin Ring the Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany NEGAAS organized: - Official get together with Dr. Roman Herzog, the then President of Federal Republic Of Germany,in 1996. in Bhaktapur NEGAAS published NEGAAS NEWS: - Vol. 1. , No. 1, September 1994 - Vol. 2. , No. 1, September 1995, - Vol. 3. , No. 1, November 1996; - Vol 4. No. 1 December 2003, - Vol.5 No1. December 2004 and - Vol. 6. No. 1 March 2006. - Vol, 7 No. 1 March 2007 - Vol 8 No. 1 May 2008 Moreover NEGAAS has published following publications such as: Booklet on Alternative Energy Technologies in Nepal jointly with Goethe Institute , Kathmandu, 1987 Article on Research in Germany in a Daily Newspaper , 1987 Interviews with NEGAAS Executive Members on Education in Germany in 1987 Interviews of German Ambassador to Nepal, Heads of German INGOs in Nepal and the first Nepalese personalities holding the German Academic degrees. Major Programs Implemented by NEGAAS1. NEGAAS as member of Steering Committee helped mint a commemorative coin, print postage stamp and publish a souvenir aimed at celebrating 50 Year s of Nepal German Diplomatic Relations 2.NEGAAS Organized a Talk Program on "Bilateral Diplomatic relation contributing to Health Education: A Step forward New Future" April 11, 2008 Kathmandu. 3.NEGAAS Organized a Fellowship Picnic on 17th November, 2008. . 4. NEGAAS organized a one month long training on Qualitative Research Method and Techniques and One Day Symposium on the same topic funded by German Academic Exchange Program 5-23 March 2007. 5. NEGAAS organized a Two Day Long Exhibition on Einstein and His Contribution to Science and Mankind on December 10 and 11, 2005 funded by German Academic Exchange Program 6. NEGAAS Organized a Talk Program on "Contribution of Einstein for the Development of Science and Mankind". 7. NEGAAS organized a Nation-wide Essay Competition on Einstein Contribution to Science and Mankind. 8. NEGAAS broadcast Television Program on Einstein on 25th December ; and 9. NEGAAS Published Articles on Einstein throughout the year 2005 NEGAAS organized a set of other activities including:“Role of Nepalese Academicians (trained in Germany) in the Development of Nepal, from 24 to 25.09.1995 in Dhulikhel “Solar Drying of Agricultural Products in Nepal: A case study in Marpha” by Juergen Blumenberg, Technical University of Munich on 29.10.1995 jointly organized by NEGAAS and Agricultural Development Bank of Nepal. “Sustainability of Agriculture System in Nepal and Germany” by Mr. Markers Brem, Technical University of Munich on 14.02.1997 , jointly organized by NEGAAS and Agricultural Development Bank of Nepal “Treatment of Urinary Stones with Lithrotripsy” by Prof. Dr. Jonas Chefarzt, Urology Department, Uni-Clinic, Frankfurt , in 1998, jointly by NEGAAS and Institute of Medicine , Tribhuvan University. “Shock and its Treatment” by Prof. Dr. W. Zimmermann, Chefarzt, Surgery Department, Kreiskrankenhaus, Achen, Germany, jointly by NEGAAS and Patan Hospital “Diagnostic Ultrasound in Abdominal Diseases, Ultrasound in Obsterics and Gynecology”, by Late Dr. med. Basanta Lall Shrestha in 1990 in Patan Hospital “Alternative Energy Technology for Rural Nepal” by Dr. Chandra B. Joshi, Associate Professor, Research Center for Applied Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University in 1992 , jointly organized by NEGAAS and Goethe Institute, Kathmandu “Experimental Studies of High Temperature Multilayer Insulation for Reentry Vehicles” by Dr. Juergen Blumenberg, Faculty of Thermodynamics , Technical University , Munich on 07.10.1993 , jointly organized by NEGAAS and Nepal Physical Society Various activities during the visit of Bundes- Chancellor Dr. Helmut Kohl in Nepal Worked as the member of DAAD- Scholarship Selection Committee.
