About NEGAAS

We Care Professionally

It is one of the oldest German Alumni Organization of the academician, involved in various sectors in Nepal and abroad. Nepal German Academic Association (NEGAAS) is a non-profit organization established in August 1986 by a group of Nepalese scholars having obtained their academic degree, undergone training and conducted researches in various universities and institutes of Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). NEGAAS aims at strengthening the relation between Nepal and FRG by developing mutual understanding and cooperation among the academicians of both the countries in social, scientific and technical fields.

What We Provide

NEGAAS has carried out a series of activities in the past. They range from the granting of honorary membership to highly distinguished personalities to the publication of NEGAAS News, the organization of exhibitions, seminars, Talk Programs on different issues, and social programs.

  • Academic Assistance

    NEGAAS has already granted its Honorary Membership to Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Dr. Klaus Barth, H.E. Franz Erwin Ring, H.E. Verena Graffin v. Roedern, H.E. Frank Meyke, H.E. Matthias Meyer, and Prof. Dr. Klaus von Klitzing, the Nobel Laureate and Director, Max Planck Institute, Stuttgart.

  • Scholarship Counselling

    NEGAAS is conducting DAAD scholarship counselling with German Embassy Kathmandu at Goethe Zentrum (Stay tuned for information on date and venue)

  • Alumni Meet and Talk Series

    It is an event where a German University Alumni based in Nepal will come to present about his or her experience or story in Germany and a course or specialized subject studied in Germany.

Nepal and the Federal Republic of Germany established diplomatic relations on April 4, 1958. Nepal-German ties have grown since then on the foundations of friendship, mutual understanding, and collaboration. Both nations have constructed residential embassies in the major cities of the other. On July 5, 1965, Nepal established its Embassy.
Nepal German Academic Association (NEGAAS) is a non-profit organization that was founded in August 1986 by a group of Nepalese scholars who had obtained their academic degrees, undergone training, and conducted research at various universities and institutes in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG).
