Our Activities

Major Activities of NEGASS NEGAAS has carried-out a series of activities in the past. They include from granting of honorary membership to highly distinguished personalities to publication of NEGAAS News, organization of Exhibition, Seminar, Talk Programs on different issues and social programs. NEGAAS has already granted its Honorary Membership to Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Dr. Klaus Barth, H. E Franz Erwin Ring, H.E. Verena Graffin v. Roedern, H.E Frank Meyke ,H.E. Matthias Meyer and Prof. Dr. Klaus von Klitzing , the Nobel Laureate and Director, Max Planck Institute, Stuttgart. NEGAAS organized Officials get opportunity to meet with Dr. Roman Herzog, the then President of Federal Republic of Germany in 1996 at Bhaktapur, Nepal NEGAAS published NEGAAS NEWS from Vol. 1 to Vol 16 during last 26 years and two volumes of Journal and Souvenir Issue commemorating 25 Years of Nepal German Diplomatic Relations. Moreover NEGAAS has published following publications such as: Booklet on Alternative Energy Technologies in Nepal jointly with Goethe Institute, Kathmandu, 1987. Article on Research in Germany in a Daily Newspaper, 1987. Interviews with NEGAAS Executive Members on Education in Germany in 1987. Interviews of German Ambassador to Nepal, Heads of German INGOs in Nepal and the first Nepalese personalities holding the German Academic degrees.

30th Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Nepal German Academic Assiciation (NEGAAS) celebrated its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 28, 2018 (2075/4/12 B.S.) at Aryal International Hotel, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The AGM has unanimously elected a new executive committee members for 2018-2020. 30th_AGM_NEWS_2018.pdf

29th Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Nepal German Academic Assiciation (NEGAAS) celebrated its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 30, 2017 at Kathmandu. Mr. Surendra Dhakal as President of NEGAAS welcomed all the members in the AGM, NEGAAS Secretary Dr. Rajendra KC presented the progress report of NEGAAS and Treasurer Prof. Sharada Shrestha the income and expenditure Report for fiscal year 2073/74. As Chief Guest Mr. Krishna Hari Baskota the Chief Commissioner of National Information Commission launched NEGAAS Journal 2017. Er. Sandhya Regmi as Chief Editor of the Journal highlighed very interesting and valuable articles in the Journal. Making remarks on the occasion as Chief Guest Mr. Banskota appreciated the contribution made by NEGAAS towards making very much meaningful Nepal-German bilateral relations at the academic level.

NEGAAS WORKSHOP- 2017

The DAAD Research Ambassador Meet

The DAAD Regional Office, New Delhi is pleased organize the DAAD Research Ambassador Meet is taking place in Pune, India from 9-12 November 2016. The meeting is being organized in conjunction with the 3rd Indo-German Dialogue on Excellence in Research and Education scheduled for the 10th of November. The meet would offer the participants an opportunity to come together again, review cooperation in the past years and plan for activities in future. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ramesh Kumar Maskey, the life member of NEGAAS, who is also a DAAD Research Ambassador, is participating in this event on behalf of Kathmandu University and Nepal. The stay and travel is well taken care of by the DAAD.
